Event Schedule

The show will run for approximately 90 minutes, excluding a 15-minute interval in the middle. After the show, join us for some after-show drinks at a local pub in Earlsfield for an hour or two.

Earlsfield Station is the nearest train stop, a mere 20 meters away. Regular SouthWestern trains from Waterloo, Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, and Wimbledon make it easily accessible. The station also offers ramp access for trains and step-free access with lifts to all platforms.

By Bus:
Buses 44, 77, and 270 all stop at Earlsfield Station, conveniently located near the theatre.

By Car:
Parking is available from 4:30 pm on Thornsett Road, just to the left after passing Tara Theatre. If you require disabled parking, spots are available on Magdalen Road near the junctions with Garratt Lane and Tranmere Road. For further details, check the Wandsworth Council website.

By Taxi:
The postcode for Tara Theatre is SW18 4ES. For local minicab services, South West Cars is recommended and can be found just around the corner from Earlsfield Station on Magdalen Road.

By Bike:
If you're cycling to the event, bike racks are available on Garratt Lane directly opposite the theatre. For more information on bike parking, refer to the TFL website.

How long will the event last?

The event is expected to last approximately 2 hours, including a conversation between Charlie and the guest, an interval, interactive segments and a Q&A session.

Can I purchase food and drinks at the event?

Yes, Tara Theatre has a selection of refreshments available for purchase at the Cafe Bar which opens an hour before the performance and continues to stay open until the end of the event. So, feel free to pop in for a coffee or a glass of wine. They offer a range of delicious drinks and snacks, sourced from local suppliers. It is situated at the front of Tara Theatre.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS
The building is wheelchair accessible with step free access throughout. The performance space is on the ground floor. The accessible toilet is located on the basement level and can be reached via the passenger lift.
HEARING INDUCTION LOOP SYSTEM
Please inform the Welcome Team on arrival. To use their induction loop system, turn your hearing aid to T.

ASSISTANCE DOGS
You are welcome to bring your assistance dog to Tara Theatre. Please request an aisle seat when you book. Alternatively they are happy to dog sit for you.

Are there any age restrictions for attendees?

We recommend that attendees be 18 years of age or older. Our live podcast event will likely include mild profanity and adult humour, which may not be suitable for younger audiences.

When should I arrive?

Doors to the theatre open between fifteen and thirty minutes before the event begins. The Cafe Bar opens at least an hour before the show and you are most welcome to come for a drink beforehand. If you arrive late we may ask you to wait for a suitable moment before you can enter to minimise disruption to the show.

CLOAKROOM
Unfortunately we do not have cloakroom facilities. Please do not bring large bags with you when you visit us.

Can I reserve specific seats at the event?

Can I record video or take photos during "The British English Podcast LIVE"?

While we love that you want to capture memories of the event, video recording is not permitted during the live podcast. This is to respect the privacy of all guests and to maintain the integrity of our live performance. However, personal photography is allowed—feel free to take pictures to remember the night! We just ask that you be mindful of the experience of those around you and refrain from using flash, which can be disruptive. Share your snaps and tag us—we'd love to see the event through your eyes!

What if I arrive late?

Latecomers will be accommodated as best as possible, but entry may be restricted until a suitable break in the performance.
