What is the course structure?
You will unlock a new challenge each day which will include a video lesson, an interactive activity, challenge resources, summary points and an active assignment. You will be aiming to do complete each challenge on the day it arrives in your inbox. The first one will be Monday, 7th August, the second on Tuesday, 8th August and so on until the week is complete. If you choose the "Personalised Feedback" option, you can complete these challenges at a later stage but to be in with a chance of winning a prize you will need to upload your response on the day the challenge was set. Each challenge topic is wonderfully varied, giving you a fresh start every day of the week.
How long will the course take?
The 7-Day Challenge runs for 1 week, from 7th-13th of August, 2023. If you take the "Personalised Feedback" option, you will then be given lifetime access to all course contents.
What level of language proficiency is required for this course?
While ANY level is permitted, I would say anyone of an intermediate to advanced level will benefit from this course. Especially if you are of an upper intermediate to upper advanced level.
How much time will I need to dedicate to this course each week?
I predict that you can do the majority of these daily tasks within 1-2 hours but you can of course choose to spend more or less time on them than that. Just remember that the more you put in to it, the more you get out of it.
How is progress measured in the course?
Progress is measured based on the quality of your writing assignments and your level of social engagement with others and their responses.
What kind of support is available?
There are two levels of access to this course.
Those who sign up for the "Basic Access" option will be submitting their assignments to the social discussion board and will receive responses from other students who are taking the challenge.
Those who sign up for the "Personalised Feedback" option will be submitting their assignments to be marked by a native British English teacher. You will also be encouraged to post to the social discussion board to receive responses from others on your posts.
Who can win the prizes?
Anyone from either level of support can win. It is about how much effort and time you put into the challenges.
How much does the course cost?

What happens if I need to pause the course?
The challenge provides a new challenge every day for 7 days in a row. If you choose the "Personalised Feedback" option, you get lifetime access to all of the challenges and so if you need to pause you simple resume when you are ready. Do remember that the prizes are awarded to those who are active during the 7 days of the live event, so, if you take a break from the course, you will likely not be in the chance of winning a prize.
What’s the refund policy?
Due to the nature of the course running for just 7 days, there is a 3-day full refund policy for those on the "Personalised Feedback" option. There is no refund policy for the "Basic Access" option.
How do I win a prize?
Simple! The participants who are most active with each challenge from the 7th to 13th of August, 2023 will win the prizes! The aim is to get you active with your studies for a whole week trying hard to finish each challenge and to show your efforts along the way so that we can tell who has put the most amount of effort into it.
What are the prizes?
There are 3 prizes in total. If you come in at 3rd place you will get lifetime access to Season 1 of The Academy (worth £75). If you come in at 2nd place you will get lifelong access to Season 1 & 2 of The Academy (worth £150). 1st place will get you lifelong access to Season 1, 2 AND 3 of The Academy.
